Cat family puzzle by Sabu Oguro for Naef, Switzerland, 1980

This Katzenfamilie set consists of two parents and five kittens interlocking or perching on each other— part nesting puzzle, part display sculpture, it is cut, dyed, and finished entirely by hand.

Condition: excellent

Saburo Oguro (b. 1936) is a Japanese master craftsman who began his career by creating educational toys for special needs children, and went on to design hundreds of wooden puzzles. Each piece is carefully designed with flowing curves and shared lines, allowing animals and seasonal motifs to nestle together perfectly with barely a gap between them.
