Cat brass wall hook by Walter Bosse for Herta Baller, Austria, 1950s

A cute but sturdy 6.5-inch hook shaped like a cat, with smooth curves and a dark patina over polished brass highlights. It functions as both hardware and a fun graphic note on a wall.

Condition: Very good, patina consistent with age

Walter Bosse (1904–1979) was a Viennese designer known for small, expressive brass and ceramic objects, often with playful animal forms. His collaboration with Herta Baller in Vienna during the 1950s produced his acclaimed “black gold” line: objects made for everyday use but given sculptural identity in compact form.
